Transform your legs with a yoga toe squat

Regardless of what your days entail, it’s undoubtable that your legs will take quite a beating. Whether they’re stuck under a desk all day, or running around after children all day – they are bound to be suffering. Not to mention our poor feet, which, after years of being stuffed into shoes, can become ridiculously tight.

If you’re experiencing any sort of pain or discomfort in your feet, ankles, calves or legs, chances are, you could benefit from a transformative yoga toe squat. While it looks simple, it is anything but. Sinking into the pose for a few seconds will inevitably make you wonder, “Why didn’t I do this earlier?”

So let’s get to it …

  1. Kneel on your mat, bringing the sides of your big toes together, and your ankles towards each other. (Make sure your toes face directly back and that your ankles are in line with your shins.)
  2. Sit back onto your heels and bring your head directly above your spine. Sit up tall, with your chest lifted and shoulders rolled back and down.
  3. Now tuck under toes and sit back on to them, maintaining the posture you’ve already created. You should feel a huge stretch along the backs of your toes, and possibly also the inner arches of your feet.
  4. Ensure you maintain slow, soft breathing.

Do this every day for 5 minutes (taking breaks every minute) for two weeks, and you’ll be left with a brand new pair of legs.
