Why we love THE UPSIDE

When it comes to activewear, there is certainly no shortage of fabulous options available to have you working out in serious style at Barre Body. However, we have a super soft spot for the gorgeous Australian brand – THE UPSIDE. Regularly adorned on the bodies of our teachers; THE UPSIDE is known for their brilliant prints and fabulous fabrics.

After co-hosting an event with THE UPSIDE and Clinique last month, we decided to ask THE UPSIDE team a few questions to get a peak behind those fashionable doors.

What makes THE UPSIDE so special? 
THE UPSIDE was born to fill a gap in the market of fashionable activewear that served both function and fashion equally. Our founder Jodhi Meares struggled every day to find transitional pieces that could take her from her morning yoga class to midday meetings. We very quickly became the go-to brand for unique prints and quality fabrics. Our leggings feel like like an absolute dream!

What are your favourite outfits for a barre class? 
You can’t go past a perfect mid-rise pair of leggings for the bending and bouncing – THE UPSIDE Yoga Pants and Dance Crop are always great support and come in a variety of prints and plain colours each season. Throw on an Issy Tank in black or white and you have easy chic.

What trends do you see over this winter period and heading into the second half of 2016? 
The Bomber Jacket has definitely had it’s come back. We’ve just launched our Lombardy Bomber that is an office favourite. Remember the old school Adidas tracksuits from the 80’s? We’ve reinvented them in a sleek, tapered set for men and women in our next collection, due out in July.

What are the must-haves in any activewear wardrobe? 
Your shoes can make or break your outfit. Start with your feet first and work your way up. A printed legging with a plain tee is pretty much our office uniform.

What are THE UPSIDE team’s favourite wellbeing mantras/tips? 
Get up early – with the new day, there are new opportunities. Sunrise offers rebirth and new beginnings so take on each day with the knowledge that nothing is yet decided.
