Emma Seibold
Founder
As founder and creator of Barre Body and its suite of brands, Emma Seibold has cemented her place as one of Australia’s leading health and wellness professionals. Having launched the brand with a single studio in Melbourne ten years ago, Emma has led the Barre Body group to become an international staple in barre and Pilates.
Early on in Barre Body’s inception, Emma knew that delivering exceptional classes relied upon having exceptional teachers and thus, exceptional training. And so, she worked with industry leaders to create Barre Body’s world-class training programs. These programs have since trained tens of thousands of aspiring instructors from every corner of the globe, who have gone on to open their own studios, start fitness empires, teach incredible classes, and to have rich, rewarding lives.
Emma holds a Bachelor of Business, a yoga teaching certification (over 750 hours of training undertaken), a Certificate IV in Contemporary Pilates and Teaching Methodology, and a certification in teaching meditation. Emma’s 15 years of teaching experience, thousands of hours teaching clients, and over 10 years owning and running barre and Pilates studios gives her unique and expert experience in all things Pilates, barre and business.
Emma has a special interest in meditation, pre & postnatal exercise, business, marketing, and barre (of course!).
Liana Hudson
Head Teacher Trainer
Let’s hear it for Liana. Part of the Barre Body fam since 2016, she’s the brains behind developing and managing all face-to-face and online training for our Pilates Mat, Barre, Reformer Pilates and short courses. She also mentors, develops and educates our training team team in Sydney and Byron Bay. She’s basically our version of a unicorn.
What are you passionate about? Being the person that can teach people about something they are passionate about. Seeing someone’s growth and change in self-belief from the beginning till the end of a course always gets me right in the feels.
What’s your favourite way to move? I chop and change between movement styles I enjoy, which is what I love about Pilates, Barre and Reformer. I am in my reformer era at the moment.
What’s your favourite book? This can also change a lot based on what season I am in. I am currently opting for page-turner reads, which are all the Colleen Hoover books!
Sophie Bredenkamp
Senior Trainer & Training Manager
Meet sweet Sophie. She helps facilitate our in-person Barre, Pilates Mat and Reformer Pilates training, plus she manages the admin of all current trainees and assessments. She brought her love of dance to the Barre Body studio in 2017 when she first started as an instructor and has since discovered the joy of mentoring when she joined the Teacher Training team in 2020. Seriously. What can’t she do?
What are you passionate about? Helping new teachers thrive and find their new career path!
What’s your favourite way to move? Definitely Pilates mat, but also Ballet/Jazz dance.
What’s your favourite book? I’m not a huge reader, but I can tell you my favourite movie! It would have to be “The Mummy” — I love the action, the little bit of history, the Egyptian theme, and the romance. I have watched it more times than I can count and I will go back for more!
Rebecca Lockyer
Senior Trainer
Look up “icon” in the dictionary, there should be a photo of Rebecca. She hires and mentors our new and current teachers at Bende in Byron Bay, and has been helping train teachers with Barre Body since 2018. At 17, she was told she could only become a ballet dancer if she sorted out her posture — since then Pilates has become the backbone of her physical health. Pun intended.
What are you passionate about? Sharing everything I know about being the best instructor you can be and seeing new instructors light up.
What’s your favourite way to move? Strength training. I love lifting weights and feeling strong and empowered.
What’s your favourite book? The Outlander series. Which I have now almost finished (tears)
Sam Sales
Teacher Trainer
Sales is her name, support is her game. Sam guides and facilitates our future instructors towards living their dream lives, through teacher training and ongoing support. She’s passionate about alignment and safety through all elements of movement. She’s also our spiritual guru. If you’re in need of inspiration, Sam is your gal.
What are you passionate about? I love sharing my passion for the human body with instructors and aspiring instructors.
What’s your favourite way to move? Free, fluid and flowy deliciousness.
What’s your favourite book? The Prophet by Kahlil Gibran.
Catilin Quinn
Teacher Trainer
As a Reformer, Mat Pilates and Barre instructor, you’d think that would be enough for Caitlin, but it turns out she is also a musical theatre triple threat. As a professional performer, she discovered her love of Pilates and mindful movement through a need to condition her own body, to strengthen her core and rehabilitate a serious injury. From theatre to Pilates, Caitlin’s teaching experience spans over 12 years, with a style focussed on cultivating an innate awareness of the body and its form through breath, postural alignment and strong, mindful movement. This can also be said for her trainings and she feels inspired to be helping to facilitate the next generation of instructors through the Barre Body brand.
What are you passionate about? Sharing my experience and expertise as an instructor and supporting people to feel confident on their own unique journey.
What’s your favourite way to move? I love walking, a strong and flowy reformer class and a good boogie!
What’s your favourite book? Love Stories by Trent Dalton. For ALL the feels.
Teresa Valentini
Teacher Trainer
As one of Barre Body’s first ever team members, Teresa Valentini is a Pilates and barre encyclopaedia with over 17 years of experience. Also a trained physiotherapist, Teresa first discovered the transformative benefits of Pilates in 2004 whilst recovering from a dance-related injury, when she instantly fell in love. After completing a Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Science, she relocated to San Francisco where she completed the renown 600-hour Fletcher Pilates Program, developed by Pilates elder Ron Fletcher. She has since complimented her classical Pilates background by completing contemporary training through STOTT, Yogaworks, and Club Pilates. Teresa holds a Doctorate of Physiotherapy from the University of Melbourne, and has worked in a variety of inpatient and outpatient settings. With a comprehensive understanding of injury rehabilitation, she’s dedicated to helping others achieve optimal health through movement.
What are you passionate about? Helping people learn about their body.
What’s your favourite way to move? Hiking outdoors. Preferably in a forest!

She’s been there, done that, and is here to help the next generation thrive.

Emily Merrin
Teacher Trainer
You’ve never met a teacher (or a multitasker) like Em. Personal trainer and Pilates instructor, her fitness career began in 2014. Now a decade later, she’s only gotten more passionate about inspiring other instructors through teacher training and as one of our mentors on Teacher Love Club.
What are you passionate about? Helping people find their confidence and building strong happy healthy bodies.
What’s your favourite way to move? Nothing compares to a run along the beach in the sunshine or a strong mat pilates class for me.
What’s your favourite book? The Four Agreements – By Don Miguel Ruiz.
Georgie Walker – Powell
Teacher Trainer
Need a hype girl? Georgie’s your go-to. She started her career in Yoga, instructing and leading teacher trainings in Bali and online. Her holistic approach to health and wellbeing led her to also study Pilates. Which in turn, led her to us. She loves strength, mindfulness, and the precision of Pilates, as it supports us not only physically, but mental and emotionally, too. Forever a student of life, she’s also always up to date with the latest research. (So, she’s our resident fact-checker.)
What are you passionate about? Health, wellbeing and connection in all their many forms! I’m inspired by humans and humans being the most radiantly authentic version of themselves.
What’s your favourite way to move? I’m super into the empowerment and precision of strength training x Pilates with heavy weights. Equally matched with eyes closed, nonsensical, erratic and intuitive dance!
What’s your favourite book? I’ve always been book obsessed. I like to have a fiction and non-fiction on regular rotation currently deeply into a fantasy novel called ‘The Branded’ by Jo Riccioni and multiple Chinese Medicine books.
